Silverstone National - Saturday 10th May 2014.

We were all looking at the weather forecast all week, it looked like we were certainly going to get a wet race, but were were greatly welcomed by some fine weather with wind to blow away any showers. This was Shah and Daves first race together so hopefully all went smoothly. Carl Chambers had some bad news at the previous race with his ex btcc touring car, his engine was no longer requiring a major re-build, so he was out in his previous years 306, which had some modifications to it.

Carl did a respectable qualifying of 18th, Shah & Dave set a grid position of 31, so not the best result but hopefully we can improve as we get further into the season.

Shah & Dave

Silverstone was Shah's first race of the season. This race was a standing start and Shah managed to get a good start which Shah held for a few laps but his lack of experience meant that positions were lost leaving him in last position. Shah then came into the pits for driver change after 15 laps, pit stop went quite well for the first one. Dave soon picked the pace up but sadly due to how far behind the car in front Dave could not gain the next position. Shah & Dave finished in P23 after some penalties and cars that did not finish so not too bad. Both drivers really enjoyed the race.

Carl Chambers

After Snetterton his Ex BTCC car was no longer available as his engine had failed and was going to take some time to get fixed. So Carl used his car that he used in the first year of racing which he has done some upgrades on it to the brakes and handling. He started off in P17 and finished his race in P10 which was an outstanding result for the spec of the car, well done Carl
